ASM is an IB World School accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools that provides an American style education to international students from more than 50 countries since 1962. We offer instruction from Early Childhood through High School.

How to apply

Our busiest recruiting months are from November to January, with openings becoming known in October. ASM will post openings on our website and/or on one or more of the websites associated with the organizations that run hiring fairs, like the GRC, Search Associates, and ISS, which we sometimes also attend in person.

Spontaneous applications

You are welcome to send your voluntary application. We will keep your resume in our database for 12 months from your application and will be in touch if something suitable comes up during that time.

We prefer candidates with a minimum of two years teaching experience who ideally hold a Master’s Degree. All candidates must be fluent in English. United States citizens are preferred.

Our salary scale is competitive with similar international schools and includes fixed automatic step increases.

Occasional on-call substitute teachers

Our occasional substitutes tend to be utilized on an on-call basis. This means that we will sometimes require your services once a week and sometimes much more often depending on need. Subbing is a great way for us to get to know new teachers and for teachers to get to know our school and students.

These are the pre-requisites for the job. Please be aware that they are all must-have items:

  •  An Italian passport or a valid permit for working in Italy
  •  An Italian bank account and a fiscal code
  • Excellent knowledge of English, ideally English mother tongue
  • A clear police background check
  • Living in Milan and not too far from the school for your convenience
