Schoology is our Learning Management System (LMS) where you can view your child’s specific course materials, upcoming assignments, and daily classroom activities. Unlike PowerSchool, which is used for official records and grades, Schoology is the window into the day-to-day learning experience. #
1. Prerequisites: PowerSchool Access #
Before you can set up your Schoology account, you must be able to log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal.
If you have not yet set up your PowerSchool access, please refer to our PowerSchool Parent Portal Guide first.
2. Retrieving your Student Access Code #
To link your parent account to your child, you need a unique Schoology Access Code for each student.

Log in to PowerSchool: Go to https://asmilan.powerschool.com/.

Locate the Code: In the left-hand navigation menu, look for the button labeled “Schoology Access Code.”

Copy the Code: A code will appear (formatted like
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). Copy this code or write it down.-
Note: If you have multiple children, you will need to switch between student profiles in PowerSchool and copy the code for each one.

3. Creating Your Schoology Account #
Once you have your code, follow these steps:

Navigate to Schoology: Go to https://www.schoology.com/.

Sign Up: Hover over “Sign Up” at the top right and select “Parent.

Enter Access Code: Paste the student access code you retrieved from PowerSchool and click “Continue.”

Complete Registration: Enter your name, email address, and create a password. Click “Register.”
4. Adding Additional Children #
If you have more than one child at ASM:

Log in to your newly created Schoology account.

Click the arrow next to your name in the top right corner and select “Add Child.”

Enter the unique Schoology Access Code for your second child (retrieved from their specific profile in PowerSchool).
5. Schoology Mobile App #

Download the Schoology app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Log in: Use the email and password you created during the registration process.

Search for School: When prompted to find your school, search for “American School of Milan.”
Troubleshooting & Support #

Code Not Appearing: If you do not see the “Schoology Access Code” button in PowerSchool, please contact the IT office.

Login Issues: Because you create your own password for Schoology, the IT department cannot see it. Use the “Forgot Password” link on the Schoology login page if needed.
