Thanks to the guidance of Model UN directors, Mr. Briner and Mr. Reichlmayr, all the delegates were able to be active participants in many controversial debates, while eloquently expressing their points, and finding solutions to real world issues that challenge even the most experienced diplomats.
At ASM, we believe in teaching today’s student for tomorrow’s world. When considering that statement from a technology angle, we believe that means integrating technology into the classroom environment and focusing on providing instruction that uses technology as it connects to the curriculum in meaningful ways. A Technology Integration Specialist works with teachers to support their use of technology in the classroom. Every teacher is a technology teacher. Teachers use our newly created Technology Continuum to help guide their instruction and assess their students’ skills.
There are many technology resources available. We have Interactive WhiteBoards in every classroom and over one hundred mini Dell laptops. In addition, there are document cameras, digital cameras, BeeBots (small robots designed to help teach basic programming), and handheld digital microscopes available for classroom use. Teachers use a variety of programs and online resources to support their instruction.
