Short personal and professional introduction:

Karen is originally from the U.S. and has been living in Milan since 2008. She is the mother of Cloe (ASM class of 2027) and Gaia (ASM class of 2029) and has been an ASM parent since 2012.

Karen is a Certified Professional Counselor, working with adults, couples and young adults in private practice, helping them develop more effective communication and coping strategies, and better manage interpersonal challenges. She has a special focus on expatriation/repatriation and cultural adjustment, intercultural and relationship issues, adolescence, pregnancy and new parenthood and anxiety and stress management.

Karen is also a member of Bocconi University’s Counseling and Self-Empowerment Department, where she counsels students in all levels of degree programs on academic as well as cultural adjustment issues.
