Milan Area

Fondazione Rava (NPH)

The Francesca Rava Foundation helps children under challenging conditions in Italy and worldwide through distance adoptions, projects, awareness-raising activities on children’s rights, and volunteering. It is non-denominational and apolitical and represents the international humanitarian organization N.P.H. Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (Our Little Brothers), founded in 1954. Students can volunteer in the local Milan office, help with fundraising and outreach efforts, or participate in service trips during the summer.

Milano Altruista

Milano Altruista helps people and organizations organize volunteer work: in collaboration with the non-profit world and with schools, they create significant, widely flexible volunteer activities (also suitable for those who have little time and cannot guarantee continuity). They make existing volunteering opportunities easily identifiable by those looking for them and promote volunteering, in particular, to those who have not done so until now. Students volunteer in the offices, organizing events, and can even participate in them.

Emergency

EMERGENCY is an independent and neutral international organisation founded in 1994 to provide free, high-quality medical and surgical care to victims of wars, anti-personnel mines and poverty. Students can volunteer in their local offices doing research and advocacy work.

Progetto ARCA

Progetto ARCA gives assistance to marginalized populations (refugees, families in trouble, recovering addicts, the elderly, and psychiatric patients) through simple provisions such as a bed, a hot meal, and clean clothes. They go beyond assistance towards a future of autonomy and social integration. Students can volunteer in Via Aldini to distribute and sort clothing. October is their fundraising campaign with “Zuppa della Bonta”, where students can help fund raise, and students can organize clothing drives and deliver donations year round.

No Walls

No Walls assists foreigners with integration and social inclusion. This is done through three main actions, equally important and interconnected: the teaching of Italian (because integration is, above all, speaking a common language), the after-school program to support children (who attend middle school to improve their performance in the classroom), and promoting sport as a source of shared values. Students can volunteer in a variety of ways.
