Welcome to the American School of Milan Elementary School!

On behalf of the entire elementary staff I would like to welcome and thank you for your interest in our school. The elementary school of the American School of Milan has been providing a world-class education to the international community of Milan for the last 50 years. We are proud of our tradition and enthusiastic about the 21^st century learning experience we provide today. Our school is a dynamic, enthusiastic place for learning where children explore, question, experiment, imagine, analyze, and discover their worlds. The children in our school come from many parts of the world, have had a broad range of experiences already in their young lives, and bring new perspectives and ways of life to share with others. We aim to nurture globally-minded learners who are inquirers, communicators, thinkers, risk-takers, knowledgeable, caring, principled, reflective, open-minded, and well-balanced. To accomplish this, our highly qualified professional teaching staff uses a variety of approaches to learning. Our curriculum emphasizes early literacy skills through a strong foundation in reading and writing based on best practices. Our staff is committed to preparing our students for today’s interconnected world and hope you find this website helpful in learning more about the educational opportunities at our school.
