After-school Activities Brochure 2012-2013

Extra-curricular activities provide opportunities for leadership and personal growth. The ASM sports and after-school activities are designed to provide students with a variety of activities wherein students can learn new skills, develop their talents, and socialize with friends. The activities fall into three main categories: active, creative and academic. Students are encouraged to take the opportunity to participate in at least one activity during the school year.

 Elementary and Upper School students can choose from a menu of activities which is published and distributed to families each September. Recent activities have included cooking, karate, girls running, gymnastics, musical performance, rock band, dance, and approaches to drawing. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts meet regularly at ASM and are organized and led by parent volunteers.

 At the High School level, ASM varsity sports include cross-country, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and soccer. Our teams travel to other schools around Italy to compete in games and tournaments. Other extra-curricular offerings include yearbook, musical performance, drama and dance.

 New activities this year include professionally taught ballet, hip-hop, tennis, lacrosse, art for upper elementary students, music activities for elementary students (including piano, violin, cello, small group guitar and collective vocal sessions), chess, elementary computer skills and puzzles with Ms. Baldi. Full registration forms and information for after-school activities are kept in the school secretarial offices as well as the Business Office. Registration will take place from Sept 17th, 2012 in the Business Office and close on Sept 28th, 2012 at 3pm. Please note that all after-school activities are only for enrolled ASM students.
