What kind of opinion or action are they hoping to get from readers?

 

Look beyond any emotional appeals or distractions to find out what the ad really says (or doesn’t say) about the product or service. Do you detect any exaggeration or suspicious promises? Any missing information that is important? If so, describe the “hidden message.”

 

What attention-grabbing and/or persuasive words did the advertisers use?

Are there any signs or symbols in the ad? If so, what are they trying to tell you?
