The American School of Milan welcomes applications from students of all nationalities who can contribute successfully to our multicultural community of learners. Students are selected to enter the school on the basis of past school records, teacher recommendations, and a biographical profile. We are pleased to offer places to those students whose experiences and records indicate that they will succeed in and profit from our school's program.

New student applications are accepted throughout the school year. Applications for the current school year are accepted on a space available basis. Although there are no specific deadlines, we advise prospective students to apply as soon as possible as there are space constraints in certain grades.
Beginners in English may be admitted to the Primary and Intermediate Units, Grades Nursery-5. Applicants to our Middle School must demonstrate a working knowledge of English in order to be considered for enrollment. High School applicants must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English as measured by standardized testing and/or a writing sample. Students transferring from a country whose school year follows a different calendar than ASM will generally be required to continue in the year they are enrolled in or have just completed in their home country.
The American School of Milan offers a limited Resource Program for students with special needs. Please contact the Admissions Office for further information.
The ASM application requirements and procedures are outlined in the admissions procedures page. All required forms and documents must be completed and submitted to the ASM Admissions Office at the time of application for enrollment. Final decisions on admission and grade placement are made by the school's professional staff following a review of all completed application materials and student records.
The American School of Milan encourages prospective parents and students to visit our school and campus by appointment and explore the possibility of enrollment. We are happy to explain the ASM program, answer questions, and provide a tour of the school. Volunteer parents can provide in English and a variety of other languages information about their personal experiences in our community of learners. Please do not hesitate to contact us to make arrangements to visit the school or for further information. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the American School of Milan.
